My boys like to build forts and bridges around the stream and pond in our neighborhood. They are always on the look out for things to use for that. (the HOA doesn't like their forts but....we clean it up)
They found some construction debris in the fields. It looked like garbage so I helped them bring it home. They let me use this piece for my project.
I built a ladder sort of thing with the old wood.
The wood was a rectangle when we found it but it fell apart during transport. I glued and screwed it back together and added two more slats to the center. Set the piece on it's side and leveled the slats at equal distance apart.
Screwed in the wire because I ran out of staples.
(I usually use a staple gun)
Level and hang with monkey hooks and an eye hook in two places.
Used twine to tie on some frames.
I also hole-punched a family photo to tie into the middle frame.
This was my inspiration..
So cute from Flamingo Toes.
This piece of art hangs in our formal dining room turned office.
I am loving this unique piece.
