I have some large crates that are taken apart in our garage.
My hubby brings them home for the kids to build forts and for my random projects.
I love this simple saying (and the movie).
I used a crowbar and hammer to detach the 4x4's.
(saving them for something else)
Taking all the nails out would've taken me a long time so I just left them there and hammered them as flat as I could. (just have to be super careful)
I rubbed it down with dark walnut wood stain and an old t-shirt.
I used some standard stencils to spell out LiFE iS... BEAUTIFUL.
The wreath is attached with ribbon and a thumb tack.
It sits on our piano.
(there is a mirror behind it because I don't have another place for it right now)
If you were wondering how these embellished candles would burn....here is a picture.
The mod podge and tissue doesn't melt or burn - it looks sheer and pretty when lit.
(I never leave them unattended)
Life is Beautiful...(if you choose to see it that way).
You can make rustic art out of pretty much anything...if you like that sort of thing.
