1,500 homes burned. Nine lives lost.Half a million acres scorched.
: : I came across this poster on the top, and fell in love with it. Turns out it's all for a good cause. I decided to buy it .here.
"Donated by designers and artists around the globe, posters sold at the So-Cal Fire Poster Project raise funds for victims of the wildfires that devastated Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Diego Counties. All proceeds will be given to the Salvation Army, for the 2007 California Wildfire fund."
Our Little Garden Cottage
When we were in Maine we bought the old wooden shutters for $5 each.It is amazing what we can fit in a car! I like the old chippy gray paint on them.
I gave the inside some fresh paint and then the fun began. I love setting up the little cottage and when our grandchildren come they love to play in it while the older grandchildren jump on the trampoline behind it. I usually have quiet background music playing , the birds are singing and the curtains are blowing gently in the breeze. When we have garden tours this is a favorite spot. On the first hot night you will find me sleeping out here!

The little electric stove was given to me from our oldest daughter-it was black so I painted it cream.
I think this is the only new thing in the cottage-it was a beautiful Mother's Day gift from my daughters. Everything else is thrift.yardsale or someone's cast away.
This is the cottage by candlelight-it looks so romantic at night.
The little one's love to play with this dollhouse.
So that is our Garden Cottage not fancy but a romantic little hideway, don't you think?

Blossoms and Blooms!
A longer view of the bed by the driveway
I think these tulips are so showy!
These parrot tulips are showy as well.
This is a golden elder.
Our Magnolia is starting to bloom.
Aren't these pretty?
I like the fringe tulips also.
I think these are Shirley and the dark ones are Queen of the Night.
Virginia bluebells are so pretty I would like them to spread around the garden,
I decided to add some punch to the garden-so I spray painted this blue.
This is a pear tree in blossom.
I know I said I would show the cottage today but it is not quite ready yet. I am having fun doing the little touches now. Come back tomorrow and I will share it with you!
Take care,
Carolyn
