Blooming in Our Garden Now!

Today was a busy day in the garden deadheading lilacs and peonies etc. that are well past their prime. Late in the day we did get a thunder shower and they are predicting lots of rain for the weekend. I am late posting today but I thought I would show you what is blooming in our garden now. The garden changes so quickly now. The photo above is an old rose called Fantin Latour.

My husband has been busy replacing four arbors that rotted out. We decided not to stain them but let them age=we are getting lazy!

The fourth arbor,

He also built this garden stucture up in our Cheslea garden. We think it adds interest to this part of our garden but I can't wait for it to age so it blends in.I have plantedsweet autumn clematis and Jackmani clematis to grow over it. I did plant a couple of morning glories to give it a quicker cover for this year.

This is the arbor by the baywindow looking into Martha's garden.

I like the unusual color of this lupin-it has bloomed here for a few years now.

Strawberry foxglove-I hope it will reseed.

Annual daisy with lady's mantle

an old fashion rose I bought at a yard sale-sorry no name.If I wasn't so lazy I would research it for you.

Oh no another rose I have forgotten the name of =is it a Buck rose?

Peach leaf bellflower-isn't it charming?

I know this is out of focus but somehow I still like it-a dark red peony with crambe cordifolia in background(looks like giant baby's breath),

love this color combo

arbor leading to our main door

This is behind that second arbor looking toward our little garden cottage.

Next week I will show you the rest of the garden-if I haven't bored you all yet. We gardeners love to show our gardens!

Have a great weekend!

Happy 4th of July to my American friends,

Carolyn
